previous 9/10 next 1/10  Norman 2 - 4 Generation (378932168)

Dark skies made the crowd of 508 at N.P.S On The Way a little nervous, but the rain held off. Elias Dienes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jeffrey Bouvy and Pim Kruijs. Norman decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Karande - Mulyono, Rayar, Marbun - Andrianto, Edo, Luc, Ginanjar, Bulo - Cannon, Guiterez.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Generation. The following players took the field: Cedeño - Auge, Kościów, Rəşidzadə - Ignácz, Kainer, Brizuela, Perälä, Petersen - Hesseler, Moñiz.

Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 9 minutes into the match left Generation's S. Petersen completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Norman's B. Andrianto put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 15 minutes, but the ball went wide. The crowd chanted their encouragement as Norman's D. Edo came in from the right after 22 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1. The guests almost went up by a goal after 23 minutes when J. Hesseler came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Norman had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the game, Generation wanted to bring some new energy to their game. J. Brizuela gave D. Maléth a quick hug as he left the field. The Generation coach adjusted their lineup with 46 minutes gone. D. Maléth and S. Perälä assumed each other's positions. The terraces were silenced after 65 minutes when Generation's Y. Auge put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. J. Hesseler received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 76 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Generation fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The home crowd cheered when, after 86 minutes, A. Kościów's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. 87 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 4 as D. Maléth finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The players of Generation now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. It took several tries, but Norman managed to break through on the left after 88 minutes, getting the ball to L. Luc who easily reduced the lead to make the score 2 - 4. Norman's B. Andrianto left the field after 88 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was H. Tubun. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Generation, with 56 percent of the ball.

Norman's top performer was clearly W. Ginanjar. S. Marbun on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Generation player was S. Perälä. On the other hand, Y. Auge's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 4.
