09-05-2012 12.30
3311 spectators had come to
Korova Milk Arena this cloudy day.
Patrik Forsman was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
August Friedrich Muncker and
Viktor Baumgartner.
Clockwork had chosen a strategic 5-2-3 formation.
They fielded: Muñoz - Espluga, Niţescu, Mustajärvi, Tejada, Cortada - Brigitte, Sandland - Mudinho, de Gaay Fortmann, Cabeza.
DIEDE06 decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Lineup: Dekel - Hameleers, Waasdorp, Khoma, Jurac - Siebert, Lyn, Gerbrands, Voermans - Austnes, Jalink.
After 19 minutes of play,
G. Cortada gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
DIEDE06 managed, after 31 minutes, to even the score at 1 - 1 with a lucky free kick by
P. Lyn. Somehow the ball squirmed its way through the defensive wall!
V. Niţescu still has a lot to learn. For instance, he should know not to make half-hearted passes in front of
F. Jalink, who easily scored for DIEDE06, making it 1 - 2.
J. Mudinho made a superb strike after 44 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Clockwork claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
S. Mustajärvi should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting DIEDE06 a goal with 57 minutes of the match played.
The crowd was on its feet 64 minutes into the match, as Clockwork's
T. de Gaay Fortmann found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 2 - 2 equaliser.
Making his way up the middle 79 minutes into the match,
C. Tejada almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
Y. Dekel blocked it to keep the score level.
After 80 minutes, the Clockwork coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
C. Tejada off the field.
F. Prokazov took his place.
DIEDE06 mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 82 minutes, but
S. Siebert was unable to convert from short range.
T. de Gaay Fortmann would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
A. Karlsson entered the game for Clockwork as the match clock showed 87 minutes.
A. Karlsson became the new Clockwork captain.
88 minutes into the game, Clockwork wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
E. Muñoz gave
B. Hansson a quick hug as he left the field.
Possession in this half belonged to Clockwork, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.
Clockwork's top performer was clearly
A. Brigitte.
B. Hansson turned in a dismal performance, however.
Y. Dekel performed admirably for DIEDE06.
However,
J. Voermans made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 2.
