(379022769)

10-05-2012 00.00
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Maltinti United saw a crowd turnout of 2148.
Michaël Grall was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rodolphe Eigner and
Stefan Nilsson.
Maltinti tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Monereo - Baroja, van den Vlekkert, Gandra - Salgado, Lummerschied, de Souza, Eco, Ferrugem - Pivetti, Taborda.
Sulacap started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Kordulski - Cedro, Crivelli - Souza Reis, Augustinho, Francke, Vogelmann, Ferreira - Perneta, Agapito, Bonete.
They were singing the praises of
L. Taborda 8 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Maltinti.
Sulacap's right side looked dangerous 12 minutes in, but
S. Monereo made a good save on
E. Ferreira's hard shot to the top corner.
Maltinti's opponents know to be wary of
F. Pivetti's speed, but it made little difference as he flew past the defence 16 minutes into the game. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive!
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
A. Ferrugem squirmed through their central defence after 20 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
Sulacap managed to reduce the score to 2 - 1 as
E. Ferreira finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence.
Maltinti managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
F. Pivetti cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
3 - 1 was the halftime score.
Sulacap enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Maltinti coach let
A. Santos replace
R. Salgado after 46 minutes.
R. Crivelli could've grabbed a goal for Sulacap 71 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation.
M. Cedro hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Sulacap's
E. Ferreira an easy chance to knock it in for 3 - 2.
The referee showed Sulacap's
I. Perneta the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Maltinti, as
A. Lummerschied left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
J. Bell took his place on the field.
L. Moura Cruz was called on to replace Maltinti's
S. Baroja after 80 minutes following a nasty collision.
After 87 minutes Maltinti's
J. de Souza contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
S. Eco got himself booked. The manager of Maltinti was not happy.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Sulacap, with 58 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Maltinti player was without a doubt
F. Pivetti.
L. Moura Cruz turned in a dismal performance, however.
Sulacap's best player was
D. Vogelmann.
On the other hand,
R. Crivelli's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 2.
