RITORNO 5 - 1 Never
(379031359)

08-05-2012 19.05
Clear skies welcomed the 1033 spectators who had made their way to
Matusa.
Turkka Sepponen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Manolo Velar and
Raúl Simón.
RITORNO decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Teodoro - Cater, Monduzzi, Cozzella - Amico, Migneot, Gennaro, Clark, Burelli - Vunderink, Broskvar.
Never had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Zapalski - Karapici, Alongi, Fontanive - Van de Veire, Colapietra, Bonini, Gladis, Marinov - Pira, Pellencin.
RITORNO saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
RITORNO broke through on the left 26 minutes into the game, with
A. Cozzella firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
After 27 minutes, RITORNO sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
F. Amico, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 0.
After 28 minutes, RITORNO's
B. Burelli found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 3 - 0.
After 34 minutes, Never's
M. Pellencin fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Against a lesser team, RITORNO could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 39 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
RITORNO had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
Never's
M. Pira skillfully knocked a pass over the top after 70 minutes, and that was received by
M. Van de Veire who just managed to slot it past the opposing goalkeeper for 3 - 1.
RITORNO managed to extend their lead to 4 - 1 when
F. Amico cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as RITORNO scored another to make it 5 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
B. Burelli after 76 minutes.
RITORNO claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
D. Cater performed admirably for RITORNO.
However,
A. Cozzella made a disastrous appearance.
Never's top performer was clearly
M. Pellencin.
On the other hand,
C. Zapalski's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 1.
