TANKS 4 - 0 Ceahlaul
(379039312)

08-05-2012 19.15
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 738 to
TANK'S SQUOD Arena.
Zdeněk Vojtěchovský was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Clemente Torres Fontes and
José Carlos Camilo.
TANKS had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation.
Lineup: Fundoni - Falsetti, Tarantino, Piga, Malvezzi, Wawrzyńczak - Virdis, Giaran, Squizzato, Fucà - Cerritelli.
Ceahlaul decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Lassota - Ştefan, Balaş, Mănoiu - Vukoša, Van Eyken, Pratt, Schweitzer, Strunge - Cruz Couto, Burnar.
TANKS used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
After 16 minutes of play,
M. Fucà gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
TANKS's
V. Giaran got himself booked for a foul.
TANKS's
D. Piga increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 21 minutes.
With 33 minutes played,
J. Cruz Couto had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal.
The referee showed Ceahlaul's
J. Pratt the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
With 37 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of TANKS resulted in a counterattack that set
F. Malvezzi free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ceahlaul, with 52 percent of the ball.
It wasn't a good day at all for
E. Vukoša. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of TANKS to 3 - 0 as
R. Squizzato finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
82 minutes into the game,
S. Virdis had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
A. Properzi.
With 85 minutes played, TANKS put themselves up 4 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
S. Cerritelli, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
After this, you could see that the players of TANKS were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Ceahlaul claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
D. Piga performed admirably for TANKS.
P. Fundoni turned in a dismal performance, however.
Ceahlaul's top performer was clearly
J. Pratt.
J. Schweitzer was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
