A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 3368 to
Bendur Arena.
Jan Stloukal was the appointed referee.
Bendur started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Greinschgl - Kraechenbuehl, Kazija, Lannerin - Morales, Mansdorf, Colas, Rabrenović, Amić - Molendijk, Flores.
adobes decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Kasco - Briceño, Vermehren - Hernández, Renko, Arostegui, Sánchez, Mena - Mauad, Gallardo, Paetz.
adobes decided to play creatively.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 21 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
S. Flores, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
The visitors refused to give in and, after 26 minutes,
J. Hernández evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1
They were singing the praises of
J. Molendijk 32 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Bendur.
adobes's
J. Hernández placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
J. Renko couldn't finish.
42 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
J. Molendijk broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Bendur.
43 minutes into the match, the visitors reduced the lead to 3 - 2 as a free kick by
R. Briceño slunk past the home side's goalkeeper.
3 - 2 was the halftime score.
Bendur had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.
V. Amić should probably have put his team up another goal after 48 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
N. Kasco kept the visitors in the game.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 56 minutes, Bendur tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
Bendur solidified their lead at the 84 minute mark, as
S. Flores dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Bendur's
E. Kraechenbuehl increasing the lead to 5 - 2.
Confident in their lead, Bendur's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
After 89 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
G. Rabrenović might have resulted in another goal for Bendur. However,
N. Kasco made a spectacular save.
Possession in this half belonged to Bendur, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.
Bendur's top performer was clearly
Y. Mansdorf.
However,
F. Morales made a disastrous appearance.
F. Gallardo performed admirably for adobes.
G. Vermehren turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 2.
