A scorching day at AnfieldAirlines, where 702 spectators were in place for today's match. Andy Little was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Guenter Reutimann and Ad Wellock. Ziggo tactics involved an interesting 3-5-1 combination. They fielded: Dell'Amura - Hartkamp, Colet, Eshuys - Özgünel, Veneman, Verweij, Rogić, Gustavsson - de Ridder.

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave D. Gustavsson from Ziggo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 3 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Given a free kick close to the byline, Linksliberalen tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let J. Golbach slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 1, 12 minutes into the game. 30 minutes in, Ziggo appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. The home crowd cheered when, after 39 minutes, W. Knoops's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. 41 minutes into the game, Ziggo had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to poor. 43 minutes into the game, Linksliberalen worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Linksliberalen, with 58 percent of the ball.

A review of the gameplan helped Ziggo get back to a passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. The visitors' M. Hagebeek took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 58 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Linksliberalen. 65 minutes in, Ziggo's H. Hartkamp received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 71 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Ziggo found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. After 72 minutes D. Gustavsson could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. 76 minutes into the game, Ziggo seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. After the ball was lifted in from the left, W. Knoops was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 79 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Ziggo's L. Rogić got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 2. After 87 minutes Linksliberalen's E. Persicchio limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. With the scoreboard showing that 87 minutes had been played, Linksliberalen nearly put themselves up another goal after B. van Mesdag came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Linksliberalen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

The most dominating Ziggo player was without a doubt C. Verweij. G. Dell'Amura turned in a dismal performance, however. Linksliberalen's best player was J. Golbach. W. Knoops on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 2.
