previous 4/10 next 6/10  Cracks 2 - 0 Meadows (379222532)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3216 at Cracks Stadium today. Filippo Lamma was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Luis Adolfo Stirling and Isidre Ruiz. Cracks decided to use a 4-3-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Delta - Haubourdin, Cabral, Luštek, Castellbell - Bazhenov, Aréchiga, Banda - Limón, Bustamante, Magrí.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Meadows. They fielded: Sufi - 福佑 (Fuyou), Burke, Nalda, Raun, Xhanari - Klausen, Abbenhuis, Jung, Chocholski - Moralejo.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Cracks. For their match strategy, Meadows had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Cracks had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 19 minutes, but D. Bustamante's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. 38 minutes into the game Meadows managed a counterattack, but A. Burke took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Meadows claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Priding himself in being an active coach, the Meadows manager gave new instructions to his players after 46 minutes. With the match clock at 46 minutes, Meadows modified their style of play a little bit. E. Xhanari would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. S. Thibault entered the game for Meadows as the match clock showed 46 minutes. Meadows's 呂. 福佑 (Fuyou) was shown a yellow card after 51 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 61 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Cracks to take the lead after a good cross from the right found M. Limón alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Meadows almost scored after a swift counterattack 62 minutes into the game, but J. Abbenhuis put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. R. Muntinga was called on to replace Meadows's F. Klausen after 78 minutes following a nasty collision. M. Limón caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 82 minutes. This gave Cracks the 1 - 0 lead. 84 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as G. Luštek broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Cracks. Meadows's O. Raun had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 86 minutes having been played. T. Bille was the replacement. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cracks, with 66 percent of the ball.

Cracks's top performer was clearly D. Bustamante. However, C. Banda made a disastrous appearance. Most important Meadows player was 呂. 福佑 (Fuyou). On the other hand, J. Abbenhuis's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
