previous 9/10 next 1/10  Devils 6 - 1 F.C. (379283774)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 827 at Hell today. Ryan Sharpe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andreas Tsimplidis and Kazimír Horváth. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Devils. Starters: Bałaban - Révay, Müldüz, Rüdnitz - Troostwijk, Romack, Pypłacz, Simor - van Daatselaar, Kuffner, Ivčević.

F.C. started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. They fielded: Döbrösi - Szenes, Dohányos, Virág, Eőry - Bailliet, Lengyel, Levratto, Kovács - Krizsik, Eötvös.

After 12 minutes F.C.'s I. Dohányos limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. F.C.'s W. Levratto gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 23 minutes with a superb strike from the right. The Devils free kick 28 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of H. Romack, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 1! Devils had a good opportunity to take the lead as J. Pypłacz came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of M. Döbrösi. M. Müldüz caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 33 minutes. This gave Devils the 2 - 1 lead. 35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. van Daatselaar broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Devils. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1. Devils enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.

Things were going to get worse for the visitors. H. Romack squirmed through their central defence after 57 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Devils scored another to make it 5 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for M. Müldüz after 58 minutes. By now, the players in Devils felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. With 65 minutes played, Devils's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to L. Simor he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 6 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Romack from Devils a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 75 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! F.C.'s D. Bailliet had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 76 minutes having been played. K. Csankó was the replacement. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Devils, with 54 percent of the ball.

Devils's top performer was clearly J. Pypłacz. D. Troostwijk was a disappointment, however. The most dominating F.C. player was without a doubt I. Eötvös. K. Csankó on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 6 - 1.
