(379361331)

23-05-2012 10.50
It had rained all day, but 1656 hardy fans still made it out to
teufels kicker arena.
Erik Ingelwald was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Kwang-Su Cha and
Domenic Baldorf.
FCB started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: Sobíšek - Belodedici, Ravagnin, Venegas, Makhlav - Vitkov, Zenner, Wende, Slyngborg - Korkut, Généreux.
Pizza had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
They fielded: Paolini - Caridi, Mendrino - Voccoli, Termali, Ruggerone, Zanatta, Lizza - Loddo, Musarella, Pistarà.
FCB seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
J. Zenner was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on!
Down the middle came
G. Loddo, making a fantastic play that nearly had Pizza take the lead after 34 minutes, but
J. Sobíšek preserved the tie.
37 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for FCB was
E. Makhlav.
FCB's
A. Ravagnin placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
J. Slyngborg couldn't finish.
FCB's
L. Korkut increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 40 minutes.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to Pizza, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
After 46 minutes, Pizza switched
G. Loddo with
M. Bruni, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
With 46 minutes played, the Pizza coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
W. Gosmar came on,
G. Termali had to leave the fray.
The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Pizza's coach gave
C. Mastrosimone the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
S. Voccoli reluctantly left the field.
FCB increased the lead as
L. Korkut struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
S. Musarella's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 70 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
G. Pistarà who knocked it in for Pizza. 3 - 1!
With 76 minutes played, FCB put themselves up 4 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
D. Généreux, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
FCB put themselves up 5 - 1 when
J. Venegas broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
C. Ruggerone from Pizza a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
FCB claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Most important FCB player was
E. Makhlav.
On the other hand,
J. Zenner's play was disheartening.
Pizza's top performer was clearly
S. Musarella.
M. Paolini was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
