Dark skies made the crowd of 4516 at Geocacher SV Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Alejandro Aguilón was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Piet Wijers and César Velasco Tovar. Geocacher tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Lineup: Bierbaumer - Dranka, Semper - Westpreuße, Dejagah, Hörnschemeyer, Michahelles, Opalka - Jungborn, Rentzell, Poggenbruch.

Baraonda started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Beurmann - Bailey, Camilleri, Mula, Carachi - Laudi, Plantinga, Montesin, Pisani - Bartolo, Tabone.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Baraonda. After 13 minutes, S. Poggenbruch came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Geocacher the lead. Cheers filled the stadium as P. Semper broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Geocacher. The players of Geocacher now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After 22 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and R. Rentzell gave the Geocacher supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Geocacher to 4 - 0 as S. Opalka finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. D. Bartolo of Baraonda was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Geocacher claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.

With 47 minutes played, Geocacher put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to R. Rentzell, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. 51 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as W. Dranka broke through, making the score 6 - 0 for Geocacher. R. Bailey of Baraonda received a yellow card after 60 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Geocacher's A. Dejagah swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Geocacher's R. Rentzell increased the lead to 7 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 69 minutes. By then R. Rentzell had scored three goals - a hat trick! Geocacher enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.

R. Rentzell performed admirably for Geocacher. W. Dranka turned in a dismal performance, however. Baraonda's best player was D. Beurmann. However, S. Mula made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 7 - 0.
