Chance 4 - 1 RöPS (379428218)

3116 punters turned up at Chance Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Fabio Campomagnani was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Werner Bokhove and Turi Miozzari. Chance had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Suárez - Preinitzer, Pilgren, Rinfret - Carrani, Kęski, De Luca, Kampotsis, Goihenetxe - Korsgaard, Bazzanti.

RöPS started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. They fielded: Savonsaari - Del Boca, Kjellsson, Sallansalo, Horteu, Dietzen - Ristilä, Isoherranen, Aittamäki, Nivet - Suomi.

4 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Chance to take the lead after a good cross from the right found B. Kęski alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 7 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Chance fans erupted in celebration as L. De Luca rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0! RöPS almost scored after a swift counterattack 9 minutes into the game, but J. Nivet put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. O. Rinfret had a fantastic opportunity to put Chance up another goal 17 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Cheers filled the stadium as U. Goihenetxe broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Chance. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Chance claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

L. De Luca increased Chance's lead to 3 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. J. Nivet's speed was clear to see after 69 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released J. Suomi who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 3 - 1. The referee showed RöPS's J. Nivet the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Chance's L. De Luca struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 4 - 1 after 84 minutes. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for L. De Luca. The players of Chance now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Chance enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

Chance's best player was L. Bazzanti. P. Pilgren was a disappointment, however. Most important RöPS player was L. Dietzen. R. Savonsaari on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.
