Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 4095 at Matric Arena today. Stefan Hammarmo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Orest Peryt and Peter Holtenstad. The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 12 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by M. Al-Mansour. Matane's K. Majerović could have put the guests one up after 21 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but M. Al-Mansour was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Planá's A. Pavlov was shown a yellow card after 23 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for Matane, M. Ştirban was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. M. Barassutti replaced him. Matane had to make a substitution after 38 minutes. D. Zdrzalik limped off the field and was replaced by Y. Mylnikov. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Planá claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

The guests took the lead 75 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in K. Majerović scoring to make it 0 - 1. C. Opseth's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 76 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to M. David who knocked it in for Planá. 1 - 1! Possession in this half belonged to Planá, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Planá's top performer was clearly A. Pavlov. W. Szulga was a disappointment, however. F. Mangematin performed admirably for Matane. However, E. Schuitema made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
