BKC 6 - 0 Exeter
(379481808)

23-05-2012 20.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 3472 that came out to
Carlsberg Stadium.
Davor Apostolović was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Arsalan Shahrokhi and
Andrés Villalba.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BKC.
They fielded: Pellicanò - Carlsson, Sjöstedt, Killius - Gilltorp, Reitwiesner, Eneman, Hendricks, Korhonen - Ohlholt, Bernblad.
Exeter tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Williams - Mansell, Bulman - Browne, Clarke, Zylmans, Swinburne, Kumar - Rodman, Moir, Meldrum.
BKC saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
It was an obvious ambition of Exeter to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
3 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for BKC was
O. Korhonen.
J. Bernblad increased the lead for BKC to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
M. Eneman unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Given a free kick close to the byline, BKC tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
M. Reitwiesner slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 0, 12 minutes into the game.
After this, you could see that the players of BKC were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After 19 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by BKC was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
After 28 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Exeter found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
weak.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
BKC had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Exeter was able to get his message across, and raised Exeter's organisation to
passable.
After 46 minutes, Exeter switched
N. Zylmans with
P. Gouldbourn, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
After 58 minutes,
T. Killius put BKC ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
A questionable free kick call just outside the home side's penalty area gave Exeter a chance at reducing the score 68 minutes into the match. In the end, the ball went wide.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in BKC's
M. Eneman increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
74 minutes into the game, Exeter had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
BKC put in a good effort on the right, but
A. Ohlholt saw his volley fly wide of the mark 76 minutes into the game.
The heat made it a terrible day for
M. Eneman, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players.
With 86 minutes played, BKC put themselves up 6 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
A. Ohlholt, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Possession in this half belonged to BKC, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.
Most important BKC player was
A. Ohlholt.
M. Carlsson on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Exeter player was without a doubt
P. Swinburne.
S. Rodman turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 6 - 0.
