The 1666 spectators at
Imladris were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Marlon Buglass was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Darrell Troutman and
Fredrik Hörhult.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Nemora.
The following players took the field: Frieske - Steinsvik, Collboni, Chatelain, Ariagno, Napetschnig - Mascheroni, Gažurik, Dotti, Lastocki - Mantovani.
Chickens tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Pedrosa - Bontenackels, Marcuzzo, Lootens - Amitai, Ben-Yitzhak, Boissonnade, Curado, Gheser - Sádlík, Jurcuţ.
Chickens saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Nemora took the lead after 23 minutes as a result of
M. Mascheroni's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
Ł. Lastocki could have increased the lead after 27 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
With 29 minutes played,
E. Chatelain of Nemora fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
G. Marcuzzo of Chickens was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Nemora put themselves up 2 - 0 when
F. Collboni broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Nemora's
H. Napetschnig refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 43 minutes.
In a rapid move 44 minutes into the match,
Ł. Lastocki of Nemora lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
R. Mantovani who easily hit it home to make it 3 - 0. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
By now, the players in Nemora felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
With 44 minutes played, Nemora's
R. Mantovani almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
Chickens's
B. Jurcuţ left the field after 44 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
C. Fâşie.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Nemora, with 52 percent of the ball.
R. Gheser managed to make an excellent pass from the flank, but
M. Sádlík was not as skillfull in scoring.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Nemora's
M. Mascheroni somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
R. Mantovani, who struck for 4 - 0.
Players in Chickens heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their
H. Bontenackels reduced the lead to make it 4 - 1 after 61 minutes, following a pass from the right.
After 64 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
E. Chatelain gave the Nemora supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 1.
Nemora claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
Most important Nemora player was
R. Mantovani.
Ł. Lastocki on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Chickens's top performer was clearly
M. Curado.
H. Bontenackels was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
