Polluzioni put in a good effort on the right, but U. Cozzolino saw his volley fly wide of the mark 40 minutes into the game. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 42 minutes, Polluzioni tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Polluzioni, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Polluzioni managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when A. Congedo cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Pickwick's I. Congedo swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Pickwick enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
