The crowd of 3604 turning up at Argo Stadium today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Massimiliano Baccarani was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Winand Vanderbiesen and Megumu Nagase. Filippo tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. Starters: Soares - Martins Fernandes, Serafins, Valente, Freire Silva, Arsénio - Pereira Raposo, Pinto, Guerreiro, Martins Costa - Lourenço Ribeiro.

Fish decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Galluzzo - Rockx, Theinert, Richtscheid, Diaconu - Hole, Musser, Girardeau, Miller - Trenkler, Collins.

13 minutes into the game, Fish seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a solid level of organisation. A. Martins Costa of Filippo received a yellow card after 25 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. A. Freire Silva spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. 33 minutes into the game, Fish had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. J. Valente had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. 0 - 1 was the score with 39 minutes played, after H. Hole cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Fish. 41 minutes into the match, V. Trenkler came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The home crowd was not impressed when B. Miller came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 43 minutes. Fish were now up 0 - 2. 43 minutes in, Fish appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only poor. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Fish had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

A review of the gameplan helped Fish get back to a passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. J. Musser came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Soares but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave D. Girardeau from Fish a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 63 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Filippo fans were dismayed when it was apparent no substitutes remained after H. Guerreiro's injury. After 66 minutes, Fish's G. Rockx burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. The players of Fish now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After 74 minutes, Fish's V. Trenkler swiftly ran past J. Valente and nutmegged the keeper! 0 - 4. D. Girardeau dispatched a majestic long shot 77 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. Fish enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 74 percent of possession.

A. Lourenço Ribeiro performed admirably for Filippo. However, A. Soares made a disastrous appearance. Fish's top performer was clearly G. Rockx. J. Musser on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
