29-05-2012 19.05
Due to an all-day shower, 527 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
A.S. Rutigliano Arena.
Maxime Bressy was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Eloy Taylor and
Niclas Rauchberger.
Rutigliano decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Schillings - Ilie, Zoi, Simor - Jastrup, Śmigielski, Záveský, Cozzi - Signoriello, Nasuti, Beljaars.
Judgentus started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Tartaglia - Ianniello, Gisondi, Panzeri - Gisondi, Biagianti, Lollo, Capecchi, Gulino - Pirollo, Columbano.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
P. Zoi.
Judgentus took the lead 27 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
G. Pirollo was the scorer.
Following a foul after 29 minutes, Rutigliano got themselves a free kick just outside the penalty area.
R. Jastrup levelled the scoreline - 1 - 1.
G. Pirollo did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
With 38 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
M. Gisondi put the ball away for 1 - 2.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Judgentus claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
After 55 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
T. Lollo a chance to increase the lead for Judgentus, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3.
By now, the players in Judgentus felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
G. Gulino of Judgentus received a yellow card after 70 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Rutigliano's
F. Cozzi cut towards the middle after 71 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 2 - 3.
With 77 minutes played,
G. Pirollo nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
80 minutes in, Judgentus's
A. Biagianti received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
A. Biagianti didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Judgentus, with 62 percent of the ball.
M. Signoriello performed admirably for Rutigliano.
B. Záveský was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Judgentus player was without a doubt
S. Columbano.
U. Capecchi turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 2 - 3.
