Dark skies made the crowd of 3019 at Toxic Trace Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Wilmar Roselaar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Luís Nuno Bouça and Matthew Gonzalez. Zorka had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for United. They fielded: Clemmensen - Werner, Owens, Keating - Vesentini, Török, Hardware, Eastham, Öztürk - Barrow, Minkov.

Zorka took the lead after 10 minutes as a result of W. Bencheroune's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. After 19 minutes, M. Ius put Zorka ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Zorka's M. Drageljević was shown a yellow card after 20 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A well placed corner kick from M. Török was followed by L. Barrow's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for United, the score now 2 - 1. R. Adam got left behind when United's O. Vesentini made a sudden run forward after 34 minutes, finishing off with a neat strike. 2 - 2! After 38 minutes of play, T. Foerster gave the home team a 3 - 2 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Zorka's M. Ius left the field after 39 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was E. Karaberg. The Zorka captaincy was handed to R. Adam. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Zorka scored another to make it 4 - 2 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for E. Karaberg after 42 minutes. It was 4 - 2 at the break. Zorka enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

The home crowd was silenced as M. Török took a successful penalty shot 49 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 4 - 3. With 50 minutes played, J. Hardware of United fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Zorka solidified their lead at the 51 minute mark, as T. Foerster dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 3. Confident in their lead, Zorka's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. O. Vesentini could've grabbed a goal for United 55 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. A great save by keeper N. Clemmensen after 56 minutes kept the visitors in the game after T. Foerster struck from the left with a real cannonball. With 66 minutes played, Zorka put themselves up 6 - 3 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to R. Relidzyński, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Zorka had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

Most important Zorka player was T. Foerster. On the other hand, R. Adam's play was disheartening. United's top performer was clearly Y. Minkov. O. Vesentini turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 6 - 3.
