Players in bra-arg heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. With 5 minutes played Z. Uitz almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. bra-arg broke through on the left 8 minutes into the game, with N. Idan firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. After 17 minutes, A. Haj-Najjar made a complete fool of himself when he presented the ball to the feet of G. Dübendorfer who smashed it into the open goal for Rünenberg. 1 - 1. bra-arg's N. Amankwah tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. D. Schönmann's lack of experience almost gave bra-arg a goal after 30 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. bra-arg enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the game, Rünenberg wanted to bring some new energy to their game. D. Schönmann gave D. Amrein a quick hug as he left the field. bra-arg fans held their breath as B. Emami scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 2 - 1! Given a free kick in a difficult position after 60 minutes, bra-arg tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. J. Moraes was called on to replace bra-arg's M. Belghith after 69 minutes following a nasty collision. Given a free kick close to the byline, Rünenberg tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let B. Ginesu slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 2, 77 minutes into the game. N. Idan gave bra-arg the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2 After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Pelka got himself booked. The manager of Rünenberg was not happy. E. Freymond was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! bra-arg's C. Aguado swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. It was obvious that bra-arg had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. A great save by keeper S. Noftziger after 89 minutes kept the visitors in the game after S. Nogueira struck from the left with a real cannonball. bra-arg had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

bra-arg's top performer was clearly N. Idan. However, C. Aguado made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Rünenberg player was without a doubt M. Dünen. S. Casano turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
