Philippon almost tied things up with 42 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Nottinguem had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

After 55 minutes of game time, M. Duram had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but F. Goichon was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. With the scoreboard showing that 68 minutes had been played, daria nearly put themselves up another goal after E. Stabile came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. R. Lettera was, after 74 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper F. Goichon made the save. G. Farris wanted to play on, but the daria coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by A. Barbizzi.
