30-05-2012 12.30
2700 spectators had found their way to
Kazad Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Tommy Godquist was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Guido Leone and
Vasily Georgiev.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Chiquitin.
Lineup: Desmet - Güraslan, Stonndal, Tuninetti - Van Woensel, Rocha Alves, Shaver, Sippari, Serra - Moreno, Felip.
Enderhampton had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Vďačný - Mezej, Madonna, Prokop, Dulik - Paulay, Zuykov, Zvonček - Folli, Texeira, Jonašík.
23 minutes into the game, Enderhampton seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
solid.
After 28 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Enderhampton found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
passable.
M. Zuykov had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today.
31 minutes in, Enderhampton appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but
A. Mezej showed great heart and had a good game.
42 minutes into the game, Enderhampton seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
poor level of organisation.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 43 minutes, Chiquitin tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
The referee showed Enderhampton's
R. Paulay the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Chiquitin had most of the ball, with 86 percent of possession.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Enderhampton was able to get his message across, and raised Enderhampton's organisation to
passable.
After 54 minutes,
L. Moreno came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Chiquitin the lead.
Chiquitin's
J. Felip saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 59 minutes.
G. Folli, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
70 minutes into the game, Enderhampton had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
The home side's
J. Van Woensel came close to extending the lead 74 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
F. Vďačný managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
Chiquitin claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.
Chiquitin's top performer was clearly
J. Felip.
L. Moreno on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Enderhampton player was without a doubt
F. Texeira.
However,
F. Vďačný made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 0.
