29-05-2012 19.15
The crowd of 1423 turning up at
Stupido Hotel today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Duarte Furtado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Evert Oudhuis and
Eugen Vögeli.
A 2-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Buetta.
Starters: Guzzanti - Achtenberg, Siebente - Ortega Val, de Liever, Dogoda, Arefe, Neyer - Zagato.
Phortáin decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Higo - Pinho Cruz, Pedreiro, Souza Nunes, Itaipu - Japson, Benninghoven, D'Ávila, Severo - Português, Anhaia.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Phortáin.
Buetta made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
J. Achtenberg completely alone with keeper
S. Higo, who made a spectacular block.
Always a threat,
G. Português tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting
M. Anhaia who should have easily scored for Phortáin, but the ball went wide.
42 minutes into the match, the Phortáin manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged.
M. Anhaia of Phortáin received a yellow card after 42 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Phortáin almost scored after a swift counterattack 44 minutes into the game, but
R. Souza Nunes put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
Phortáin's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing
G. Português to score easily from the right flank for 0 - 1.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
J. Itaipu got himself booked. The manager of Phortáin was not happy.
44 minutes in, Buetta's
U. Arefe received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Buetta claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.
R. Souza Nunes left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
M. Mazzola was the replacement.
Phortáin caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 61 minutes into the match.
Z. Severo was able to finish off the move - 0 - 2.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 62 minute mark, Buetta's
G. Neyer hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
The home crowd was not impressed when
J. Pinho Cruz came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 67 minutes. Phortáin were now up 0 - 3.
79 minutes into the game, Buetta seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
passable.
G. Português, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
Possession in this half belonged to Buetta, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.
The most dominating Buetta player was without a doubt
U. Arefe.
On the other hand,
M. Siebente's play was disheartening.
Phortáin's top performer was clearly
P. Japson.
M. Anhaia turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 3.
