previous 2/10 next 4/10  Kanderdellta 1 - 3 S.O.J.A. (379609390)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 2868 had shown up at Sandbank for the match. Jonathan Cheyne was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Raimo Pöykiöniemi and Wilfried Velle. Kanderdellta had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. The following players took the field: Santillana - Furgone, Sundbrant, Schomer, Fehr, Klapproth - Biel, Roßdörfer, 堤 (Tsutsumi) - Ortega, Severo.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for S.O.J.A.. They fielded: Jarmołowicz - Konopka, Węgorzewski, Rafałowicz - Maragkos, Ruśniok, Biedziec, Rózga, Laurinyecz - Hamera, Bolger.

The wings were the focus of most of Kanderdellta's attacks today. S.O.J.A. used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. S.O.J.A. had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 34 minutes in when M. Rózga came up alone against J. Santillana who managed a block. Kanderdellta's W. Klapproth left the field after 41 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was V. Sosna. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 43 minutes allowed N. Bolger to score for S.O.J.A.. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. S.O.J.A.'s M. Maragkos got himself booked for a foul. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to S.O.J.A., who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.

M. Maragkos received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 47 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The S.O.J.A. fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 53 minutes, S.O.J.A.'s J. Ruśniok burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. A lunatic dribble by H. Biedziec, in front of his own keeper, set up Kanderdellta's R. Ortega for an embarrassingly easy strike after 64 minutes. 1 - 3! 79 minutes into the game, G. Laurinyecz had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came F. Bonea. The home crowd cheered when, after 81 minutes, J. Ruśniok's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. S.O.J.A.'s J. Hamera was shown a yellow card after 84 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by S.O.J.A., with 75 percent of the ball.

Kanderdellta's best player was M. Biel. On the other hand, A. Sundbrant's play was disheartening. The most dominating S.O.J.A. player was without a doubt J. Ruśniok. H. Biedziec turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
