previous 8/10 next 10/10  Trompitas 3 - 1 Palmareggi (379609935)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3361 at Sidney Guarda Roupas Trompistadium today. Konrad Sitkiewicz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Luis Cebada and Manuel Elsterweide. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Trompitas. Starters: Campos - Campbell, Franco, Del Valle, Goverdovskiy - Di Giovanni, Vitolo, Cuberas, Valenzuela Porras, Beccaris - Pi Dote.

Palmareggi had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players took the field: Maon - Bramanti, Del Rosso - Calmão, Klinglesmith, Molteni, Gandolfi, Patrizi - Scimeca, Rinnofner, Lepper.

It was obvious that Trompitas were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Trompitas's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. After 24 minutes, Trompitas sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached G. Vitolo, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 0. Palmareggi's right side looked dangerous 37 minutes in, but M. Campos made a good save on T. Rinnofner's hard shot to the top corner. Palmareggi needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 38 minutes F. Bramanti made way for G. Maccarone. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Trompitas enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

While defending the Trompitas lead, M. Cuberas got a new role. 46 minutes in the game, his coach ordered him to change positions with N. Di Giovanni. After 46 minutes, Trompitas felt secure enough to make a tactical change. S. Pi Dote and M. Cuberas assumed each others positions on the field. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Trompitas scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for N. Di Giovanni after 53 minutes. After this, you could see that the players of Trompitas were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. With 87 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Palmareggi showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 2 - 1 when G. Maccarone got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. With 88 minutes played, C. Lepper of Palmareggi fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Trompitas to 3 - 1 as N. Di Giovanni finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Trompitas had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

M. Cuberas performed admirably for Trompitas. M. Campos on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Palmareggi player was without a doubt J. Klinglesmith. However, T. Molteni made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.
