previous 8/10 next 10/10  Summano 2 - 4 U.S.Sarmeola (379629711)

Clear skies welcomed the 66785 spectators who had made their way to Gaetano Scirea. Peter Pokorný was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alexios Paspalas and Björn Wöll. All of Veneto was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. Summano decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Pérez - Durbić, Kosela, Pettersson, Cejudo - Millán, Proietti, Bouix, Pizzarro - Levin, Lamacchia.

U.S.Sarmeola had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Dominiak - Botasso, Breivik, Wurzach - Carrasquilla, Alia, Gondouin, Moy, Wladika - Mazas, Beginović.

11 minutes into the game, J. Mazas had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing - K. Kosela's free kick had found the back of the net and put Summano ahead 1 - 0! After 16 minutes, C. Carrasquilla sent the corner kick right to J. Wurzach who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 1! After some beautiful movement down the left wing, A. Lamacchia scored for Summano putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 31 minutes. The visitors didn't give in and, after 34 minutes, J. Mazas got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2. Summano were very close to putting themselves one up after 35 minutes as A. Millán got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. U.S.Sarmeola had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

The visiting E. Beginović was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 76 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. Some mind-boggling play by E. Gondouin almost resulted in a goal for Summano, but A. Millán's shot rebounded off the post. S. Pérez got a fingertip on J. Mazas's shot from the left 78 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. U.S.Sarmeola came close to extending their lead as J. Mazas delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 80 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. E. Gondouin increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 2 - 4. U.S.Sarmeola claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The most dominating Summano player was without a doubt J. Pizzarro. M. Levin was a disappointment, however. U.S.Sarmeola's best player was J. Mazas. J. Wurzach turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
