31-05-2012 00.50
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 2056 that came out to
COLISEO MUNDIAL.
Joe Tamaikona was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Emmanuel Guerrero and
Beni Michlin.
OLIMPICO had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Shraïbi - Cely, Mužík, Prattes - Vahey, Scolesi, Mingrino, Higuita, Novick - Carioca, Gandola.
Hipóxicos started off with a 2-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Pulli - Fantoni, Liberman - Choy, Vales, Kukis, De Marchi, Henríquez - Cascall, Reyna.
OLIMPICO were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
After 1 minutes, Hipóxicos's
R. Kukis made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
P. Cascall of Hipóxicos took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 3 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2.
P. Cascall came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Y. Shraïbi but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
J. Higuita.
After 24 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
F. Fantoni who increased Hipóxicos's lead to 0 - 3.
26 minutes into the game, Hipóxicos seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
After 33 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Hipóxicos found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
The referee showed OLIMPICO's
J. Gandola the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3.
Hipóxicos enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
A review of the gameplan helped Hipóxicos get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
R. Kukis after 50 minutes, and prevented Hipóxicos from going up another goal.
60 minutes into the game, Hipóxicos seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
weak.
The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when
O. Carioca scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 1 - 3.
OLIMPICO's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 73 minutes into the match as
B. Vahey ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 2 - 3.
L. Cely behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 79 minutes as he gave the ball away to
E. Henríquez. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
After 82 minutes of play,
F. Scolesi evened things up for OLIMPICO with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 3 - 3.
The visitors grabbed the lead after
S. Choy's free kick succeeded, resulting in a score of 3 - 4.
Hipóxicos had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
B. Vahey performed admirably for OLIMPICO.
J. Higuita turned in a dismal performance, however.
Hipóxicos's best player was
A. De Marchi.
However,
S. Choy made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 4.
