After 40 minutes Penguin tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, H. Cardoso's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Ravesloot enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

N. Melssen found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. Penguin almost scored after a counterattack 58 minutes into the match, but H. Cardoso took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. Penguin's R. Lonzar was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 71 minutes. Ravesloot had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time. Penguin were able to mount several counterattacks, such as the impressive one after 100 minutes, but V. Krushev lofted a free kick over the crossbar. With 102 minutes played S. Stumpers almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' F. Venturato was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. Penguin had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 103 minutes, but H. Cardoso's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. There was still no winner after 30 minutes of extra time so the teams had to select a lineup for a penalty shoot-out to settle the result.

Ravesloot's A. Bessems didn't hesitate but F. Venturato managed the save, resulting in an unchanged 0 - 0 score. Penguin's F. Hanrieder looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to put the ball, but unfortunately his shot went wide of the left hand post. Still 0 - 0. Oooh - how unlucky! Ravesloot's L. Bokken attempt hit the underside of the bar, but rebounded down into the grateful arms of F. Venturato. The score stays 0 - 0. Penguin's F. Callens showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 0 - 1. Ravesloot's M. Principi didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of F. Venturato. The score remained 0 - 1. Penguin's R. Lonzar coolly put the ball past S. Migliaccio. 0 - 2. Ravesloot's A. Gäntzel drove the ball hard to the corner but couldn't get it past the outstretched arm of F. Venturato. The score remains 0 - 2. Penguin's V. Krushev kept his cool as he faced down S. Migliaccio. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 0 - 3. A confident S. Migliaccio of Ravesloot put the ball right where he wanted, but F. Venturato was right there for the save. No goal. Penguin's J. Clausen was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 0 - 4! Ravesloot's best player was I. Benner. On the other hand, M. Principi's play was disheartening. The most dominating Penguin player was without a doubt B. Eisemann.
