30-05-2012 15.45
It had rained all day, but 1861 hardy fans still made it out to
perspolis.
Simon Naudet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Vibhu Samdup and
Tobias Baatrup.
resane decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
Lineup: Donis - Ahangaran, Nakhoda, Sonius, Amirian Farsani - Prost, Arbabzadeh, Ardeshirzadeh, Beyranvand, Pasikhani - Afshoun.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for MARTENTIA.
The following players had been chosen: Tabak - Kimari, Bertault - Lucarelli, Castellani, Jánošík, Fasiol, Labat - Mirchev, Izhar, Tamburi.
It was an obvious ambition of MARTENTIA to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Making his way up the middle 6 minutes into the match,
S. Afshoun almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
W. Tabak blocked it to keep the score level.
E. Donis looked great 21 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
G. Mirchev.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
G. Lucarelli just fine.
With 31 minutes played
A. Arbabzadeh almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
resane had to make a substitution after 37 minutes.
A. Nakhoda limped off the field and was replaced by
H. Najjar.
After 38 minutes,
M. Fasiol sent the corner kick right to
E. Tamburi who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 1!
No matter how hard he tried,
S. Ahangaran just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 40 minutes.
G. Lucarelli increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
H. Najjar got himself booked. The manager of resane was not happy.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
MARTENTIA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Some fine movement on the left led to a MARTENTIA goal after 49 minutes, making it 0 - 3.
S. Izhar was noted down as the scorer.
Confident in their lead, MARTENTIA's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
63 minutes into the match,
S. Izhar came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
With 74 minutes played,
S. Izhar nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
The visitors'
S. Izhar took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 76 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for MARTENTIA.
Possession in this half belonged to MARTENTIA, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
Most important resane player was
S. Afshoun.
A. Arbabzadeh turned in a dismal performance, however.
MARTENTIA's best player was
G. Mirchev.
F. Bertault was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 4.
