Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 584 to E.C.C.F. Arena. Remko Cissé was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eddie Krauss and Jamie Ausems. Ertüre's lack of experience almost gave Even a goal after 2 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. 3 minutes into the game, Even seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. 0 - 1 was the score with 14 minutes played, after A. Erer cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for FCSigulda. FCSigulda had to make a substitution after 24 minutes. O. Ertüre limped off the field and was replaced by A. Gavars. FCSigulda increased their lead after 30 minutes when A. Blunn broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. M. Liepinaitis increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. T. Dragoş of Even received a yellow card after 34 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 35 minutes into the game, Even seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. The home crowd was not impressed when J. Juszczak came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 36 minutes. FCSigulda were now up 0 - 4. By now, the players in FCSigulda felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The referee signalled a penalty 38 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. Š. Bošnjak knocked it home to make the score 0 - 5. It was 0 - 5 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to FCSigulda, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Even had passable organisation. With the scoreboard showing that 56 minutes had been played, FCSigulda nearly put themselves up another goal after Š. Bošnjak came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. 59 minutes into the match, J. Juszczak came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. A. Gavars could have put his team up another goal 67 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. It was obvious that team FCSigulda had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. H. Moulard was, after 68 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper D. Čerāns made the save. FCSigulda had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

R. Villaspasa performed admirably for Even. E. Veronese on the other hand, had a terrible day. FCSigulda's top performer was clearly H. Moulard. On the other hand, A. Gavars's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 5.
