Dark skies made the crowd of 1572 at FC Röhrapoint Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Sportclub clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. 5 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Röhrapoint was K. Halle. 24 minutes into the game, Sportclub seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organisation. With 31 minutes played, Röhrapoint put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to D. Bohács, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Röhrapoint managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when S. Berzon cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The players of Röhrapoint now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Against a lesser team, Röhrapoint could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 38 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. As R. Meingast had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Sportclub player a red card without batting an eyelid. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Röhrapoint claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 97 percent.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Sportclub was able to get his message across, and raised Sportclub's organisation to passable. With 60 minutes played, the Sportclub coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. M. Griesser came on, M. Gritsch had to leave the fray. After 65 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Sportclub found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Röhrapoint's K. Halle increasing the lead to 4 - 0. 76 minutes in, Sportclub appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. A great save by keeper S. Mascarelli after 79 minutes kept the visitors in the game after S. Berzon struck from the left with a real cannonball. Good work by the Sportclub defensive line after 80 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Z. Altendorfer alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. J. Lahdenmäki could have increased the lead after 84 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The bench was restless, and with 88 minutes passed Sportclub's coach gave H. Marschall the opportunity the player had been hoping for. S. Mascarelli reluctantly left the field. Possession in this half belonged to Röhrapoint, who controlled the ball 96 percent of the time.

S. Berzon performed admirably for Röhrapoint. D. Bohács on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Sportclub player was M. Marchart. M. Griesser was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
