Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and TORRES Arena saw a crowd turnout of 99. Víctor Víllora was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rian Deenik and Ali Fuat Unan. TORRES displayed their ability to play creatively. It was an obvious ambition of STEAUA to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Players in STEAUA heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of STEAUA's G. Pascual after 15 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. TORRES's D. Gavriliu had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to C. Avram who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. D. Burghelea charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for TORRES, but the shot went well wide of the goal. It was obvious that STEAUA had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. G. Eőry got a fingertip on C. Enderica's shot from the left 28 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The home crowd was not impressed when H. Iweins d'Eeckhoutte came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 30 minutes. STEAUA were now up 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, STEAUA's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. STEAUA's G. Pascual was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 32 minutes. Halftime score was 0 - 2. STEAUA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

53 minutes into the match, V. Penezić came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. N. Tzarfati left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Y. Küpfer was the replacement. 62 minutes into the game, STEAUA worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. The coach of STEAUA was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes, P. Tsiampouris came on for S. Hadad. The home keeper was stunned 74 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by C. Enderica and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 3. STEAUA had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. A drive down the left side allowed A. Ribas to get in close and score another goal for STEAUA after 79 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 4. TORRES's D. Burghelea was shown a yellow card after 83 minutes for slicing down an opponent. M. Lupoae of TORRES seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 4 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by D. Gavriliu. STEAUA were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. STEAUA had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

C. Avram performed admirably for TORRES. However, C. Bărbosu made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating STEAUA player was without a doubt A. Ribas. P. Iffländer turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 4.
