Cissé left the field after 25 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Ç. Acahan. Z. Lobou looked great 28 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' A. Rognoni. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Arabesk enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

With 52 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of pooll resulted in a counterattack that set Ç. Acahan free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Arabesk made it 0 - 1 as A. Santinelli got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to A. Paroli who whipped a low drive in off the far post. The referee signalled a penalty 70 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. G. Ruzzi knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. The visitors' G. Ruzzi took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 72 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Arabesk. By now, the players in Arabesk felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
