previous 1/10 next 3/10  Macabi 0 - 4 RealMadras (379828515)

The crowd of 5585 turning up at La Frustració today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Paul-Marlin Rapela was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Simon van Meggelen and Roberto Nalda. Macabi tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Ivars - Rainer, Morales, Anklam - Vilaubí, Subirà, Galdocha, Trillo Salazar, Ajdar - Papapietro, Bussigel.

RealMadras started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Urtubia - Forner, Bosa, Estrada - Subocz, Turina, Acerola, Mamulak, Tormey - Wenden, Heessels.

A. Rainer did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 24 minutes into the match left RealMadras's A. Mamulak completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. A drive down the left side allowed A. Mamulak to get in close and score another goal for RealMadras after 36 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. RealMadras's M. Acerola had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 38 minutes having been played. M. Louwsma was the replacement. Halftime score was 0 - 2. RealMadras enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

Q. Ivars got a fingertip on T. Wenden's shot from the left 62 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. After 79 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for B. Heessels who increased RealMadras's lead to 0 - 3. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like T. Vilaubí. T. Wenden received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 84 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The RealMadras fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Confident in their lead, RealMadras's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The referee showed RealMadras's P. Estrada the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by RealMadras, with 65 percent of the ball.

Macabi's best player was F. Papapietro. On the other hand, Ó. Trillo Salazar's play was disheartening. RealMadras's top performer was clearly P. Estrada. A. Subocz on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
