A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 4248 to Alkon Crest Arena. Dinu Vãduva was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peter Jacobsson and György Haslauer. Kerubi tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Kallinen - Herrera, Vanhatupa, Braga Lopes, Kuvaja, Närvänen - Jochym, Calatayud, Lavatelli - 平雄 (Pingxiong) , Cavanna.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BVB. They fielded: Meissl - Bogner, Krenn, Kutzelnigg - Unterköfler, Strippoli, Albert, Lorán, Ahmed - Hahn, Paul.

For their match strategy, Kerubi had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 13 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Kerubi was F. Cavanna. 16 minutes into the game, Kerubi seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to solid. The score became 2 - 0 at 24 minutes into the game, when Kerubi were given a penalty which J. Calatayud blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! By now, the players in Kerubi felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 25 minutes into the game, Kerubi seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. After 30 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and A. Jochym gave the Kerubi supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. Kerubi had to make a substitution after 36 minutes. A. Braga Lopes limped off the field and was replaced by M. Pokuta. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Kerubi to 4 - 0 as R. Lavatelli finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 38 minutes into the game, Kerubi had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. S. Strippoli behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 40 minutes as he gave the ball away to J. Calatayud. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Kerubi's 郭. 平雄 (Pingxiong) increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 41 minutes. It was 5 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Kerubi, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

A review of the gameplan helped Kerubi get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. 郭. 平雄 (Pingxiong) wanted to play on, but the Kerubi coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by H. Viktorsson. The coach of Kerubi was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes, A. Ounasvuori came on for A. Jochym. J. Calatayud became the new Kerubi captain. Cheers filled the stadium as J. Närvänen broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to Kerubi. After 80 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Kerubi found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to poor. J. Närvänen didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. J. Calatayud could have increased the lead after 84 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Kerubi claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Kerubi's top performer was clearly F. Cavanna. However, J. Vanhatupa made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating BVB player was without a doubt C. Paul. S. Bogner was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
