previous 9/10 next 1/10  K.C.F.C. 6 - 0 Walhalla (379866126)

Due to an all-day shower, 3255 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Emirates Stadium. Leo Niehe was the appointed referee. K.C.F.C. started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Falvo - Choi, Funakoshi, Demalata - Takemura, Waziri, Bilson, Musser, Mitsui - Haie, Coindet.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Walhalla. Starters: Zeynur - Manjon Díaz, Mosienko - Medrano, Salas, Aparicio, Acuña, La Cruz - Myhr, Montero, Valdés.

K.C.F.C. clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Walhalla used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. L. Myhr did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. K.C.F.C. had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to A. Haie, but the K.C.F.C. player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! K.C.F.C. managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when A. Haie cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After this, you could see that the players of K.C.F.C. were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. It was obvious that team K.C.F.C. had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. F. Coindet should probably have put his team up another goal after 25 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by E. Zeynur kept the visitors in the game. K.C.F.C.'s A. Haie saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 33 minutes. 37 minutes into the game, K.C.F.C. had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to solid. Halftime score was 2 - 0. K.C.F.C. claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 78 percent.

The K.C.F.C. players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. A. Haie could have increased the lead after 60 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Haie broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to K.C.F.C.. That made three goals for A. Haie and he was marked down for the hat trick. G. Takemura was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. K.C.F.C. players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in K.C.F.C.'s F. Coindet increasing the lead to 4 - 0. Given a free kick close to the byline, K.C.F.C. tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let O. Musser slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 5 - 0, 78 minutes into the game. K.C.F.C.'s O. Musser was shown a yellow card after 80 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for K.C.F.C., as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. K.C.F.C. solidified their lead at the 81 minute mark, as A. Haie dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. K.C.F.C. had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.

A. Haie performed admirably for K.C.F.C.. G. Takemura on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Walhalla player was F. Salas. B. Acuña turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
