It had rained all day, but 2888 hardy fans still made it out to Sparta Kolosseum. Emiel Hielckert was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Anders ''Löll'' Åhnskog and Laurids Dybdal. Weingarten saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Marin clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The rain made it hard for players like F. Dénervaud to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day. Weingarten had a chance to take the lead after D. Holaň's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 19 minutes. F. Casanova hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Marin's F. Diraison an easy chance to knock it in for 0 - 1. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Marin, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. The visitors' F. Diraison took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 26 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Marin. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 28 minutes, Weingarten did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, W. Roszczyk was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 2. T. Hassel could have scored for Weingarten with his free kick after 29 minutes, but the visitors' keeper just managed to get a hand on it. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Weingarten, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Weingarten's coach gave M. Lecegui the opportunity the player had been hoping for. F. Dénervaud reluctantly left the field. With 46 minutes played, the Weingarten coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. G. Romanet came on, T. Hassel had to leave the fray. Weingarten needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes A. Papariganopoulos made way for K. Parviainen. K. Parviainen was the new captain of Weingarten - handed the armband by the departing player. Marin had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 60 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave M. Aufdermaur a chance to increase the lead for Marin, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3. 61 minutes into the match, Weingarten's D. Kristiansen collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 3. Due to some great work on the right wing Weingarten's D. Kristiansen was able to even the score after 66 minutes to make the score 3 - 3. With 69 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Marin's S. Sattler reached M. Aufdermaur's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 3 - 4. With 74 minutes played, Weingarten's K. Parviainen found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, F. Diraison got himself booked. The manager of Marin was not happy. Weingarten enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

Most important Weingarten player was M. Lecegui. H. Rodrigues Fernandes was a disappointment, however. Marin's best player was D. Blommaerts. On the other hand, S. Sattler's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 4.
