previous 9/10 next 1/10  Ostrava 1 - 1 SVZW_1993 (379888420)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 2891 to Bazaly. Dani Schneider was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Koenraad Baan and Raúl Ripoll. Ostrava tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Pinto - Martinez, Spanò, Antolini - Nekrylov, Bozóky, Di Pietro, Arnbergsson, Satoniitty - Tozzato, Huijsmans.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for SVZW_1993. Lineup: Van Lombeek - Thissen, Gottblad, Valdman, Aiach - Desnoués, Dello, Mullenders, Platevoet - Ilari, Abdel.

Ostrava took a creative approach on the field. SVZW_1993 mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. With 10 minutes played, Ostrava's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to S. Arnbergsson he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 0. A great save by keeper L. Van Lombeek after 17 minutes kept the visitors in the game after S. Arnbergsson struck from the left with a real cannonball. The unexpected cross pass from SVZW_1993's J. Dello after 28 minutes opened up the defence and was received by L. Platevoet who finished off for 1 - 1. Making his way up the middle 33 minutes into the match, N. Nekrylov almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert L. Van Lombeek blocked it to keep the score level. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Ostrava enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 76 percent of possession.

Ostrava's L. Pinto had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 82 minutes having been played. R. Bradáč was the replacement. Some great play up the middle by Ostrava led to a chance for N. Nekrylov to score after 83 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Ostrava were very close to putting themselves one up after 84 minutes as V. Tozzato got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. 85 minutes into the game, SVZW_1993 wanted to bring some new energy to their game. H. Abdel gave P. Muller a quick hug as he left the field. Ostrava's D. Martinez got himself booked for a foul. The incalculable L. Aiach of SVZW_1993 did everything right as he set up O. Ilari for a goal after 87 minutes. Unfortunately, the strike missed its target. With 88 minutes played W. Huijsmans almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Ostrava had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.

Ostrava's top performer was clearly B. Bozóky. However, R. Bradáč made a disastrous appearance. Most important SVZW_1993 player was L. Aiach. L. Van Lombeek on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 1.
