It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 2901 that came out to
BiathloN Arena.
Jasmin Mijatović was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Abraham Chabot and
Sebastian Mathiasson.
biathlon decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Zsidai - Filat, Chirilă, Firţulescu - Wuerchoz, Neuhäuser, Micu, Arşinel, Bacalu - Kasznár, Hagiu.
Maccabi started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.

The home side failed to add to their score as
E. Wuerchoz shot a penalty wide after 15 minutes.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
P. Pogonowski from Maccabi a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 19 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
R. Filat's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for biathlon, he bravely continued in the match.
A great save by keeper
M. Shitrit after 23 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
O. Chirilă struck from the left with a real cannonball.
After 29 minutes,
I. Hagiu put biathlon ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
The bench was restless, and with 44 minutes passed Maccabi's coach gave
G. Faraco the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
P. Pogonowski reluctantly left the field.
3 - 0 was the score after the first half.
biathlon claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 78 percent.

M. Shitrit got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar.
biathlon managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when
V. Arşinel cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
After this, you could see that the players of biathlon were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
biathlon solidified their lead at the 74 minute mark, as
A. Kasznár dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0.
E. Wuerchoz wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat.
V. Arşinel enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again.
