(379971116)

05-06-2012 19.10
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 603 to
Stadio comunale "Via dei BERLAM".
Bernd Schevenbarg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Grzegorz Czerbniak and
Román Matapozuelos.
LEVANTE started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Moy - Tressoldi, Caggioni, Cammarata - Pierobon, Leguet, Spanu, Szeler, Scacciavillani - Pestaña, Koterwa.
Cattone had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation.
Lineup: Bencs - Fischer-Lossainen, Varriano, Segimon, Petruccelli - Morbidoni, Zanforlin, Patricelli - Folegani, Zama, Campani.
Cattone tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
C. Zanforlin of Cattone received a yellow card after 8 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The LEVANTE free kick 12 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
O. Pestaña, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 0!
After 28 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Q. Leguet might have resulted in another goal for LEVANTE. However,
B. Bencs made a spectacular save.
A well placed corner kick from
A. Koterwa was followed by
Q. Leguet's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for LEVANTE, the score now 2 - 0.
LEVANTE put themselves up 3 - 0 when
O. Pestaña broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
By now, the players in LEVANTE felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
LEVANTE had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.
After 55 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
G. Tressoldi gave the LEVANTE supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0.
Cattone's
T. Varriano refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 81 minutes.
Q. Leguet could have increased the lead after 82 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
With 83 minutes played, LEVANTE put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
B. Spanu, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in LEVANTE's
Q. Leguet increasing the lead to 6 - 0.
LEVANTE's
O. Pestaña saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 88 minutes.
With 89 minutes played,
M. Szeler of LEVANTE fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Possession in this half belonged to LEVANTE, who controlled the ball 85 percent of the time.
O. Pestaña performed admirably for LEVANTE.
L. Pierobon on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Cattone's top performer was clearly
B. Bencs.
A. Segimon turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 6 - 0.
