previous 7/10 next 9/10  Atletico 2 - 4 Centrali (380056461)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 318 at L'Atletica Arena today. Rastislav Zalčík was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Georges Lussmann and Erland Valentin. Atletico decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players took the field: Illeborg - Magro, Delangre, Flamigni, Murena - Kojić, Nicolás, Sanavio, Pirisino, Papović - Volinski.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Centrali. They fielded: Rangel - Loyola, Mądrzak, Akbulut - Nöhrnberg, Daniel, Sándor, Fasih, Giacomoni - Bustos, Paschini.

A questionable penalty 14 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as G. Pirisino knocked the ball home. V. Stokholm was called on to replace Centrali's Ç. Akbulut after 17 minutes following a nasty collision. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave W. Mądrzak from Centrali a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 31 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A. Sanavio was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Atletico's P. Seclì had to come off the bench. 35 minutes into the game, Atletico seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. M. Bustos levelled the score for Centrali, making it 1 - 1 on a free kick that went in by way of the right post. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Centrali enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

During the break, Atletico's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. 46 minutes into the game, Centrali wanted to bring some new energy to their game. R. Giacomoni gave U. Princiotta a quick hug as he left the field. After 46 minutes, the Centrali coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving M. Bustos off the field. A. Villaverde took his place. Centrali's A. Villaverde managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 53 minutes. 1 - 2. W. Mądrzak of Centrali got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game. 66 minutes into the game, Atletico seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. A tussle 71 minutes into the match resulted in a penalty being awarded to the home team and G. Pirisino put the ball into the back of the net without any difficulty. That tied the score up at 2 - 2. Atletico's D. Kojić was shown a yellow card after 73 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 77 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Atletico found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to poor. Centrali's L. Nöhrnberg was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - P. Paschini managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 2 - 3 after 82 minutes. The visitors almost increased their lead after 83 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. Atletico's counterattacks created a good chance for G. Nicolás on the right after 84 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. Centrali made it 2 - 4 as A. Fasih got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to B. Sándor who whipped a low drive in off the far post. M. Papović of Atletico received a yellow card after 86 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The home crowd cheered when, after 87 minutes, B. Sándor's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Centrali, with 64 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Atletico player was without a doubt G. Pirisino. However, M. Papović made a disastrous appearance. Centrali's best player was B. Daniel. A. Fasih was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
