JoskesFC 0 - 8 Heron (380110016)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 12000 that came out to Joskes Palace. Rien Sarlemijn was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Erno Piiponniemi and Eugenio Petrocchi. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for JoskesFC. Lineup: Winandts - Laffineur, Faingnaert, Verkimpe, Ghyoot - Giuliano, Perry, Daelemans, Snoeckx - Sibilski, Romedenne.

Heron had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Matías - Diop, Negroni, Arnou - Uvijn, Otzberg, Hugues, White, Edelynck - Roeygens, Jelčić.

After 3 minutes, Heron put themselves up 0 - 1, as J. Jelčić finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. After 21 minutes JoskesFC's C. Ghyoot contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. After 27 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for P. Uvijn who increased Heron's lead to 0 - 2. J. Jelčić received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 28 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Heron fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. J. Jelčić of Heron took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 33 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for J. Jelčić. By now, the players in Heron felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 35 minutes, Heron's J. Jelčić burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. 36 minutes in, JoskesFC's R. Perry received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. It was 0 - 5 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Heron, who controlled the ball 86 percent of the time.

After 65 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave M. Diop a chance to increase the lead for Heron, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. P. Romedenne of JoskesFC was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile N. Hugues. J. Jelčić was, after 73 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Y. Winandts made the save. E. Negroni came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Y. Winandts but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Heron increased their lead after 79 minutes when N. Hugues broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay. 80 minutes into the game, Heron were awarded a penalty and N. Hugues was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 8 rolling the ball in by the right post. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Heron, with 88 percent of the ball.

D. Sibilski performed admirably for JoskesFC. Y. Winandts was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Heron player was without a doubt N. Hugues. However, L. Matías made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 8.
