13-06-2012 13.15
Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at
KarpArena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Jonas Forser was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Albert Folguera and
Mümin Lavani.
Zubrowka had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Starters: Renaut - Simal, Butsraen, Garin, Savelbergh - Ryckx, Bodart, Palmans, De Frangh - Beauprez, Claes.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for sjottema.
The following players had been chosen: Van Looy - Ganseuer, Bjelopavlić, Coquelet - Legrand, Guyomard, Van Eenoo, Handrich, Storms - Exadachtilos, Geelen.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 7 minutes into the match left sjottema's
W. Van Eenoo completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
W. Van Eenoo increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
With 34 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
J. Guyomard of sjottema to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
L. Ganseuer's lack of experience almost gave Zubrowka a goal after 35 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
Zubrowka supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to
R. Beauprez who reduced the visitors' lead after 36 minutes to 1 - 3.
After 37 minutes, sjottema's
M. Bjelopavlić burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 4.

Confident in their lead, sjottema's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
M. Bjelopavlić left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
T. Siopoudis was the replacement.

K. Handrich.
After 79 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
S. Exadachtilos to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 7.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
K. De Frangh from Zubrowka a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!

Zubrowka's best player was
R. Ryckx.
On the other hand,
T. Renaut's play was disheartening.

The match ends 1 - 7.
