Clouds darkened the skies at Sári F.C. Arena as 12000 spectators turned up for the match. Konstantyn Shilenko was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Reinhard Sage and Davide De Rossi. Sári decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Bagyinka - Tébi, Orosz, Komár, Kázmér - Börzsei, Színes, Kovács, Machnicz - Balogh, Toronyi.

TFC demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. M. Valkusz would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. C. Chaparro entered the game for TFC as the match clock showed 1 minutes. The corner kick from L. Ivanov was powerfully met by the head of F. Zuketto to make the score 0 - 1. TFC increased their lead after 15 minutes when C. Oursel broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. Sári's Á. Kovács left the field after 19 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Z. Szekeres. After 23 minutes, TFC's C. Gándara burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. The home crowd was not impressed when C. Gándara came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 28 minutes. TFC were now up 0 - 4. The players of TFC now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After 32 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for C. Oursel who increased TFC's lead to 0 - 5. S. Koronczi received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 34 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 6. The TFC fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 0 - 6 was the halftime score. TFC enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 88 percent of possession.

C. Oursel wanted to play on, but the TFC coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by P. Sáenz. 62 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 7 as P. Sáenz finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. With 69 minutes played, TFC put themselves up 0 - 8 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was C. Gándara. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for C. Gándara. Sári's Z. Szekeres got himself booked for a foul. After 73 minutes TFC's M. Soltész contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. With 74 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed L. Ivanov of TFC to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 9. With the scoreboard showing that 75 minutes had been played, TFC nearly put themselves up another goal after R. Wegberg came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. 80 minutes into the game, TFC worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. TFC claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 91 percent.

Most important Sári player was A. Balogh. Á. Orosz was a disappointment, however. TFC's top performer was clearly R. Wegberg. L. Ivanov on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 9.
