previous 7/10 next 9/10  Nagyhalász 0 - 4 Encsi (380168550)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 9142 at Allianz Arena today. Dariusz Panasewicz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bertus Verkerk and Javier Barrasa. Nagyhalász decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Topor - Friedl, Csábi, Migaskó, Vincze - Zakariás, Kánya, Vereska, Gyánó - Csanád, Potyka.

Encsi started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Kézdy - Taricco, Kotajärvi, MacKay - Audouard, Fereberger, Fast Nielsen, Blatter, Rodríguez - Jorgensen, Andersson.

Nagyhalász used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Some great play up the middle by Nagyhalász led to a chance for B. Vereska to score after 3 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Down the middle came O. Fereberger, making a fantastic play that nearly had Encsi take the lead after 17 minutes, but B. Topor preserved the tie. The visitors grabbed the lead after S. Blatter's free kick succeeded, resulting in a score of 0 - 1. A. Jorgensen increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Encsi claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

After 49 minutes, B. Vereska had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Nagyhalász with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. With 52 minutes played, Y. Audouard nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. The visitors' B. Andersson took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 56 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Encsi. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Encsi lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when P. Vincze tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. D. Kézdy was too alert for that! After 65 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed O. Fereberger to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Y. Audouard was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 66 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Possession in this half belonged to Encsi, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

Nagyhalász's top performer was clearly A. Csanád. B. Topor on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Encsi player was without a doubt O. Fereberger. D. Kézdy turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
