FCV 0 - 4 INCEPUT (380195334)

Due to an all-day shower, 12418 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Mircea_Lucescu_Arena. Elad Gal was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jarno Pärnänen and Muamer Grizold. FCV decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. INCEPUT used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. When M. Fjelskog left the game because of a back injury after 2 minutes, FCV had to continue a man short due to there being no available replacements. C. Pfalzgraf came close to putting the visiting team one up 15 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but M. Le Gal managed to tip the ball to a corner. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of INCEPUT's O. Padrenostro after 16 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like F. Badin. FCV's M. Irastorza was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 36 minutes. After 39 minutes FCV's M. Le Gal contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. INCEPUT pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. INCEPUT's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by INCEPUT, with 77 percent of the ball.

INCEPUT's M. Ayerdi missed a penalty shot 49 minutes into the contest. The shot produced was way too weak, allowing the keeper to collect it at his own leisure. With 49 minutes played, INCEPUT put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was F. Stietencron. The pressing tactics used by INCEPUT were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. After 67 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for M. Las Heras Rueda who increased INCEPUT's lead to 0 - 3. After this, you could see that the players of INCEPUT were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. FCV's F. Baliutis got himself booked for a foul. INCEPUT's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. T. Latorre increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 4. INCEPUT had most of the ball, with 87 percent of possession.

FCV's top performer was clearly P. Mocanu. C. Ingeldahl turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating INCEPUT player was without a doubt M. Las Heras Rueda. V. Colonnello was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
