Dark skies made the crowd of 11803 at Casual Football Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Laureano Velim was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mestan Yakacık and Julio Suárez. casual.fc started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Starters: Carneiro - Hösl, Herschberger, Tiesies - Hofkens, Freddi, Diserens, Chiacchio - Léger, Neufeld, Barbořák.

RetroLetzigrundKick decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Stanic - Venclauskas, Marassi, Regine, Kalnas - Grolleau, Gabay, Gac, Mańkowski - Huysentruyt, Grunddahl.

casual.fc demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. With 5 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. K. Kalnas put the ball away for 0 - 1. What ever got into N. Marassi, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of casual.fc's R. Neufeld, who easily put the ball away for 1 - 1 after 29 minutes. casual.fc created a good opportunity to score 30 minutes into the match when S. Freddi's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. After 31 minutes RetroLetzigrundKick tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, N. Marassi's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Grunddahl got himself booked. The manager of RetroLetzigrundKick was not happy. Halftime score was 1 - 1. RetroLetzigrundKick had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

With 73 minutes played R. Herschberger almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' S. Stanic was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. 74 minutes in, RetroLetzigrundKick's K. Mańkowski received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. R. Neufeld of casual.fc had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. C. Noftziger came in to finish the match. casual.fc's F. Tiesies tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 79 minutes, but M. Carneiro made a beautiful one-handed save. RetroLetzigrundKick enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave S. Freddi from casual.fc a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 105 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! K. Mańkowski's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for RetroLetzigrundKick, he bravely continued in the match. There was still no winner after 30 minutes of extra time so the teams had to select a lineup for a penalty shoot-out to settle the result.

casual.fc's R. Herschberger looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to put the ball, but unfortunately his shot went wide of the left hand post. Still 1 - 1. RetroLetzigrundKick's L. Regine showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 1 - 2. casual.fc's G. Diserens looked nervous even as he was putting the ball on the spot. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. RetroLetzigrundKick's N. Marassi kept his cool as he faced down M. Carneiro. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 1 - 3. casual.fc's A. Barbořák made no mistake. S. Stanic didn't have a chance. 2 - 3. RetroLetzigrundKick's K. Mańkowski coolly put the ball past M. Carneiro. 2 - 4. casual.fc's C. Noftziger was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 3 - 4! RetroLetzigrundKick's P. Gac kept his cool as he faced down M. Carneiro. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 3 - 5. casual.fc's M. Léger didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of S. Stanic. The score remained 3 - 5. RetroLetzigrundKick's O. Gabay showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 3 - 6. M. Léger performed admirably for casual.fc. S. Freddi turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important RetroLetzigrundKick player was K. Kalnas. On the other hand, J. Grunddahl's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 6.
