previous 9/10 next 1/10  FuzzyBallers 0 - 9 Teamzone (380261218)

The 11994 fans in attendance at FuzzyBallers Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Heino Derbsch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ryan Palmer and Tudor Buzoianu. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FuzzyBallers. They fielded: Langstaff - Mewton, Hodson, Babb, Eagles - Cowcher, Burne, Ritter, Gardiner - Farnell, Granahan.

Teamzone tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Koszewski - Ebels, Seip, Korkeamäki, Ritto - Melone, Komínek, Pratscher, Dvorževskis - Phillips, Corvaja.

Teamzone decided to play creatively. Teamzone took the lead 3 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. J. Komínek was the scorer. 24 minutes into the match FuzzyBallers's S. Cowcher viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why A. Phillips found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. 38 minutes into the match, Teamzone could have gone up another goal, but D. Corvaja's penalty kick missed the goal by a mile. Teamzone caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 41 minutes into the match. A. Phillips was able to finish off the move - 0 - 2. After 42 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for D. Corvaja who increased Teamzone's lead to 0 - 3. G. Melone received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 44 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Teamzone fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Teamzone claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 88 percent.

50 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 5 as A. Phillips finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The players of Teamzone now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The sunny day didn't make things easy for J. Burne who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. After 57 minutes, Teamzone's J. Komínek burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6. After 76 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave A. Phillips a chance to increase the lead for Teamzone, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 7. That made three goals for A. Phillips and he was marked down for the hat trick. The visitors' A. Phillips took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 78 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for Teamzone. The home crowd was not impressed when A. Phillips came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 82 minutes. Teamzone were now up 0 - 9. Teamzone had most of the ball, with 91 percent of possession.

The most dominating FuzzyBallers player was without a doubt A. Mewton. R. Langstaff was a disappointment, however. Teamzone's best player was A. Phillips. On the other hand, A. Ritto's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 9.
