Predieri made the most of his chance to put Kickers up by another goal. 0 - 3 for the visitors. The sun seemed to put M. Carter in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. After 37 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed O. Varta to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Kickers lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Kickers had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Kickers coach let B. Borovský replace P. Barrakling after 50 minutes. A. Gmach left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 55 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. I. Ermisch was the replacement.
