(380281547)

12-06-2012 19.45
A scorching day at
MARCOSS FC Arena, where 22301 spectators were in place for today's match.
Kjell-Erik Valle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Erinaldo Pontes and
Michal Koláček.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for MARCOSS.
Lineup: van Hoven - Muci, Toffoli, Cherres - Tihula, Gallois, Paiva Souza, Algisi, Ciola - Rosso, van Hoesel.
Beppe tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
They fielded: Pruccoli - Succi, Hertner - Marighetti, Giampaolo, Fusaro, Violi, Othegraven - Bodmer, Tassone, Dias Coelho.
The corner kick from
C. Dias Coelho was powerfully met by the head of
M. Marighetti to make the score 0 - 1.
The crowd roared in delight as
R. Cherres finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for MARCOSS 28 minutes into the match. 1 - 1.
Beppe's
C. Dias Coelho left the field after 36 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
D. Papi.
F. Bodmer was handed the Beppe captain's armband.
MARCOSS broke through on the left 38 minutes into the game, with
B. Muci firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 41 minutes, MARCOSS did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
F. Toffoli was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 1.
It was 3 - 1 at the break.
MARCOSS enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
It was showtime for artist
R. Othegraven who showed off his technical mastery when he rounded
B. Muci and finished with a goal to make the score 3 - 2.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
J. van Hoesel squirmed through their central defence after 56 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 2.
MARCOSS's
L. Tihula saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 65 minutes.
MARCOSS solidified their lead at the 66 minute mark, as
P. Rosso dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 2.
Confident in their lead, MARCOSS's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
The crowd roared its approval when
S. van Hoven somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Beppe's
D. Papi 68 minutes into the game.
The bench was restless, and with 80 minutes passed Beppe's coach gave
Q. Sbrancia the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
L. Pruccoli reluctantly left the field.
MARCOSS claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
MARCOSS's top performer was clearly
R. Cherres.
On the other hand,
B. Muci's play was disheartening.
Beppe's best player was
F. Bodmer.
However,
N. Giampaolo made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 5 - 2.
